Kingsport, TN - October 2025
We took 6 dogs and they all did "something". For starters, I bred 1/3 of the dogs in the pull so we certainly stacked the odds.
ZENNY

PICKLE
(Wilson x Zenny 2023)
81-100# class in the Regional - 2nd WWPDA leg pulling 1,950#. He would have continued but he started to leave the chute and I jumped over the line for safety purposes. He was doing a fantastic job though.
Pickle had the fastest time of the day at 3.47 seconds for Novice Interior (and 1st place obviously). This completed his SIN title which completed the overall Scentwork Novice title (SWN). He also earned his first Advanced Containers leg with a second place.
1st place - Maturity competition 27+ Month class. Pickle had gone straight from the National weight pull to the show ring.
1st place in both Regional and National for the Working Class.
4th place in the Ultimate Malamute competition. His mother won the competition the last two years and he was by several years the youngest

1st place - National Rally - Advanced A
1st place - National Bred By Exhibitor
3rd place - Maturity 27+ months
JAZMINE
(Wilson x Zenny 2023)
3rd place - 61-80# class in the Regional Weight pull for a WWPDX leg, pulling 1,542#. She was withdrawn at that point as trying to out pull her mother and the other contestant was an awfully big ask for this youngster.
5th place - 61-80# class in the National Weight pull and a WWPDI leg
2nd place - Open bitch for the National AND she was heavily considered for Reserve
CHROME
(Ollie x Lucy 2015)
5th place in a SUPER competitive 81-100# class in the Regional. He pulled 2,358#. He was a couple days shy of 10 years old.
81-100# class for the National - Chrome was 0.03x from pulling an S leg. He tried SO hard. He was 7th in a super competitive class and again turned 10 the day before
GP
(Copper x Lucy 2013)
GP, who is nearly 12 years of age, participated in his last National week weight pulls. We pulled him out at 1,406# at each pull despite him not working too much. But he had a fun time! (Copper x Lucy 2014)
GP competed in his first trial and did an excellent job! He's really only been in classes for like a month or so and is picking it up well. Well enough for a 1st placement in Novice A Exteriors (12.84 seconds) and 2nd placement in Novice A Interiors (behind Pickle) - 10.56 seconds.
ANDIE (Co-owned/co-bred with Dave and Christina Watts of Fireflight)
(Ollie x Pinkers 2016)

At the Fox River Field Spaniel Club Scentwork trial, Waffle picked up a 1st and 2nd placement in Advanced Containers to complete her SCA. Pending AKC confirmation that makes her U-IA Powderhound Amaqqut Past is Present WWPDX RA NAP NJP SCA SEA SIN
Our guys did well!
In the 60# and Under class, Waffle (red harness) placed 2nd for the season. She also completed the requirements for the Working Weight Pull Superior title. She is the 4th generation of ours to earn this title.
In the 61-80# class, Zenny (orange padding) placed 4th for the season. Over this season, she completed the requirements for the Working Weight Pull Dog Excellent title and has picked up FOUR Working Weight Pull dog Superior legs over the season. One to go!
Pickle (gray harness), completed his first weight pull season and it was a successful one! He earned his Working Weight Pull dog title, 3 legs toward the new Working Weight Pull Dog Intermediate title, a Working Weight Pull dog Advanced leg, and 2 weeks ago, his first Working Weight Pull Dog Excellent leg! 🥹 Every pull we stopped him before he went out so I think this is -incredibly- positive. He will be 2 in May and is Wilson x Zenny.
Saturday, under Mr. Robert Hutton, Jazmine went Winner's Bitch for a 3 point Major, Best of Winners, and Best of Opposite Sex!! She now has both of her majors and has 9 out of 15 points towards her championship!!
(co-owned with the Watts family)
😳 In the space of like, 40 minutes, Nanner went from not having points to having 6. Both majors, one a Specialty. It's still a 'slow blink' moment, I just cannot believe it. George's response was appropriate "I am sorry what?" That drive home from MN was the "shortest" ever.
Thanks to Bev for the support and letting us use Wilson. And to the fellow Mal people who offered suggestions. Everyone has been so nice about both boys and it's appreciated. Nan and Pick are out of our 2023 Wilson x Zenny litter.
To boot, both boys passed their eye clearances 😊
Waffle had a great weekend at the WWCDTC scentwork trials! 8 for 8 on her runs and 2 second placements and a third. In the rest of her runs I think she was consistently 5th. Not bad, they were good sized classes and I do wait for her to give the alert I want, even if I know she's got it.
She finished her Advanced Exteriors and Novice Interiors to become U-IA Powderhound Amaqqut Past is Present WWPDS* RA NAP NJP SCN SEA* SIN* out of our 2020 Womble x Nellie litter.
Every single dog did something cool!
