| In the show ring, Rio was Best of Breed from the classes over Top 20 specials. Rio has been a serious competitor at weight pulls having won the super competitive "B" class (81-100#) for the Alaskan Malamute Club of Wisconsin's 2003-2004 weight pull season and has placed second in that class every year since 2002 (he was only 2!). He pulled the high weight for the season in 2004 at a whopping 3605#! He is always a force to be dealt with at Nationals. He has also been hooked into a team at sled demos and true to his lineage is an effective sled dog. October 2007 NEWS!! Rio placed 2nd in the 2007 AMCA National Specialty Weight Pull 81-100# class!
